We just returned from our vacation in the South Puget Sound. It was wonderful! There is something about fresh clams, mussels, oysters and crab that just makes everything seem right. Back here in Spokane we still are selling homes, still listing homes and still competing with inventory. So, Sellers, this one is for you.
In previous blog posts, I've taked about home staging and curb appeal for Open Houses. The same holds true for Sellers who have listed their homes for sale.
What I've been telling our listing agents here is this: Because buyers have so many options right now, your Seller's home must have some sizzle. Including the curb appeal. Somehow we need to make the Buyer slow down when they are driving by! You want the buyer to say, "I want to see inside that one!"
Here are some tips to consider.
Landscape lighting adds ambiance, illuminates pathways and highlights plants and shrubs. Consider planting for each season, which will prevent your yard from appearing dead and desolate. Inexpensive planters or unique containers can add depth and texture to porches and driveways. Make sure to do your research before you paint the exterior of your home; walk or drive neighborhoods, take note of what you like and envision those colors with your current lighting, trim and siding.
